In January 2021 our practice was appointed by the Zoological Society London (ZSL) to act as client technical advisors on the refurbishment of the Grade II* listed iconic structure of the Snowdon Aviary. The aviary has been converted to a Colobus monkey exhibit and a new Monkey House has been developed.

The contract was let as a Design & Build contract to CBRE and our practice carried out an in-depth familiarisation exercise, including a series of workshops with the various stakeholders to fully understand the rationale behind the requirements and wider objectives. Our practice sat alongside the ZSL and project managers Mace ensuring that quality would be maintained and all sensitive heritage features respected and safeguarded, assisting together with project managers MACE in monitoring progress of the works.
