Finlay McGregor

Finlay’s work sits between regeneration, construction, heritage and community-led design. Following his architectural studies at Newcastle University, he worked on commercial and public realm regeneration projects in Coventry, Plymouth, Aylesbury and Guildford, as well as international masterplans. He then moved to Melbourne, where site experience on mid-rise housing gave him a practical understanding of construction and delivery before joining PRS in 2019.

At PRS, his first substantial project was Brockwell Hall, supported by smaller heritage, cultural and public realm commissions. He later worked between Berlin and Kiel while completing his Master’s in Dessau, where work on co-operative housing, affordable live-work models and start-up workshop spaces fed directly into thesis research on post-industrial and post-commercial urban spaces.

This mix of scales has shaped Finlay’s interest in process, repair and the quiet intelligence of existing places: using diagramming, craft, adaptive reuse and sustainable detailing to support more local, accessible and resilient ways of living and making.
